Meet Dr. Emily Russell-Kinsley

     Dr. Emily Russell-Kinsley is a physician and forensic pathologist running for El Paso County Coroner. She brings medical expertise, investigative experience, and a strong commitment to public service to one of the county’s most critical public safety offices.

     She holds a medical degree (MD), is board-certified in pathology, and completed advanced forensic pathology training, specializing in the investigation of sudden, unexpected, and unexplained deaths. Her professional work has included determining cause and manner of death in cases involving natural causes, accidents, suicides, homicides, and public health emergencies.

     Dr. Russell-Kinsley is running for Coroner because she believes that every missing person deserves a name, and every family deserves answers. She is deeply dedicated to identifying the missing, restoring identities, and helping families find clarity and closure during the most difficult moments of their lives.

     As Coroner, she is committed to independent, science-based death investigations, transparency in government, and respectful communication with families. She believes the Coroner’s Office should be led by a medically qualified professional who understands both the science and the responsibility of the role.

     Dr. Russell-Kinsley lives and works in Colorado and is focused on advancing trust, professionalism, and medical integrity to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office.
